What Is In Mila by Lifemax?

In Volume 2 of our Preferred Customer newsletter, we took a look at what Mila is and how it could help you. Now, we turn our attention toward what’s in it, and why that matters so much.

Protein

Every cell in the body contains protein. Proteins build, repair and maintain tissues throughout the entire body. Amino acids that come from protein act as the brain’s building blocks. We need protein for:

  • Building (and rebuilding!) at the cellular level
  • Repairing hair, skin, nails, muscle tendons and ligaments, organs, & immune system
  • Promoting alertness, activity, energy and calmness through neurotransmitters
  • Recovering from exercise

Antioxidants

Antioxidants protect our cells by limiting oxidative damage to biological structures by passivating free radicals. We need antioxidants for:

  • Combating free radicals for anti-aging
  • Fighting oxidative stress
  • Increasing energy
  • Improving memory
  • Protecting the omega-3s in Mila

Fiber

There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber becomes gelatinous slowing the rate of sugar and carbohydrate absorption. Insoluble fiber creates a bulking action in the intestine improving bowel health and colon transit time with absorbing toxins. We need fiber for:

  • Digestive wellness
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Regularity
  • Detoxification
  • Blood sugar balancing
  • Energy balance
  • Weight management

Phytonutrients

Phytonutrients are chemical compounds that are naturally found in plants and thought to promote human health. We need phytonutrients for:

  • Boosting immune response
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Promoting heart health
  • Repairing DNA damage
  • Enhancing cell-to-cell communication

Omega-3s

Omega-3s are essential fatty acids that are an integral part of every cell in the body. We need omega-3s for:

  • Brain health and development
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Energy production
  • Metabolic health and balance
  • Cellular structure and function
  • Breast and prostate health
  • Blood sugar balance

Meet Steven Lamm, MD

Steven Lamm, M.D., known to millions as the house doctor on ABC’s The View, is a practicing internist, a clinical researcher, and a faculty member at the New York University School of Medicine where he also had his clinical training and received his medical degree. A teacher of 30 years and an honorary New York City police and fire surgeon, Dr. Lamm regularly offers his analyses and comments on a wide variety of health- and medicine-related topics on television and radio, including Oprah, Lifetime Today, The Today Show Live, and LX New York. He has authored several books, including bestseller Thinner at Last and his latest book, The Hardness Factor.

Dr. Lamm resides in New York City where he maintains his seat at the frontier of medicine. He joined the Lifemax Health Science Advisory Council with a goal of investigating the effects of Mila on cardiovascular function. Dr. Lamm believes that 80% of illnesses can be prevented with lifestyle changes, and he continuously strives to help his patients understand the difference between illness and wellness, stating that, “The absence of illness does not mean you’re well. Unless you’re actively promoting your wellness with lifestyle changes, you’re heading toward illness.”

Dr. Lamm serves on the Lifemax Health Science Advisory Council in collaboration with Bob Arnot, MD (a TV Emmy award-winning medical correspondent, author, and Lifemax Chief Wellness Educator); Francisco Gutierrez, MD (a practicing Internist and 2010 Top Physician); Theresa Ford, MD (a practicing Rheumatologist and Medical Director of North Georgia Rheumatology Group); and Dr. Brian Clement (Hippocrates Health Institute Director).

Spoon batter into each cupcake cups. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with some crumbs attached – you’re ready!
