Mastermind Event #7 Recap | October 2011
Lifemax Made the Biggest Industry Event of the Year BIGGER
Did you catch the Founders’ Call last week? (If not, listen to the recording here). Lifemax Founders Jim and Sherri Wear not only gave a great recap of the intensity of SHINE, our recent annual conference in Las Vegas, but they also shared a ton of fire-filled excitement hot off their recent trip to Houston, TX for the Mastermind Event #7 (October 27-30, 2011).
What is a Mastermind Event?
After six years of success and growth, Mastermind Event #7 brought in network marketers from 20+ countries and 79 different companies in our industry. The speakers blew attendees away with practical industry knowledge and motivational messages. These bona fide Rock Stars of MLM have organizations in the tens of thousands (even in the millions), have made millions of dollars (annually), have created BILLIONS in sales volume, and explained just how they did it.
So What’s All the Buzz About?
Lifemax created quite a buzz at the event with 18 Mila-lovin’ team members in attendance including Jim & Sherri Wear (and me, Jenni Smith) from the Lifemax Home Office; Diamond Directors Chris & Kim Prefontaine, Kimmy Everett, Katie Fredricksen, and Rachel Garcia; Global Directors Steve Szabo and Lisa Hemmeter; Executive Directors Linda Kubie, Ron Druyan, Haley Kelly, and Kirsten Biondi; Director Henryk Lesniak; and EAQ 360s Erika Sanchez, Kendyl De La Garza Hale, and Van Fitzgerald.
While I can’t speak for these leaders, I can venture a guess that each of them attended to learn more about building a successful business, to show and grow their leadership skills, and to garner as much info as possible to come back and pollinate the field with the knowledge they acquired. But don’t just take it from me, hear it from a few of the attendees themselves.
Leaders’ Take-Away
From Diamond Directors Chris & Kim Prefontaine
Jim Rohn and many other successful people have taught for decades that in order to earn more, you must become more first. No better way than to invest in yourself and do so in an environment that has the top earners from around the world so you are immersed, surrounded by those going in the same direction you are or those that have already been there and are reaching their hand out to say – let me show you the way.
From Diamond Director Rachel Garcia
The Mastermind Event was truly phenomenal. It was packed full of information that anyone building in network marketing can use to grow their own business. Hearing from the best of the best in our profession was worth 10x what we paid. Sitting in the same room with hundreds of people that have earned millions in the industry built my belief tremendously and my excitement about what we have is higher than it ever was as a result. The friendships built with fellow Lifemaxers during the downtime reminded me what this business is all about, RELATIONSHIPS. If you are serious about building your Lifemax business, you NEED to be at Mastermind 8 next year! See you there!
From Global Director Lisa Hemmeter
I wanted to share 2 nuggets from the event. There was so much information and so much take away but these two thoughts stuck out to me:
Mentor people I love.
Happiness is a byproduct of service to others.
From Executive Director Linda Kubie
1. Must read book: Randy Gage; “Making the First Circle Work: YOU!” Taking responsibility for all that YOU are doing… “You are responsible for going first, testing the way, finding what works and sharing that with those you bring into your business! We are a mentor, coach, teacher, commanding officer and partner!”
2. More great reading: Orrin Woodward; “Launching a Leadership Revolution” and “Resolved” – 13 steps to building a network and a great life! Orrin Woodward shared about the importance of learning and refining your skills around building your team and bonding with them. To build a community you first have to build yourself! You are building a community with depth and a culture! Drive deep and as you build… your leaders will show up! Build a culture within your team/community, by building relationships, integrity, teaching, duplicating, build trust and serve your team! If you build better people they will build better businesses. Another important tidbit was discussing “Conflict Resolution”;…when conflict arises and it will…it will make or break your organization. Have a plan on resolution…this will strengthen relationships and become teachable moments for everyone. Teams/communities grow because of edification, they die from innuendo and gossip!
3. Women’s panel: several women with decades of experience in their respective companies and top earners in the industry!! Donna Johnson shared: 1) We are paid for building client loyalty….we don’t have a bricks and mortar business but bricks are your business builders and mortar is your loyal clients. 2) Time vs. effort: in our profession we are paid by our efforts not our time. 3) Money=Activity; it’s not about how long you do this business it’s how much you do. 4) Practice makes perfect! You need to learn skill sets for yourself and the profession. 5) Attend everything! Your distributors will stay in the business for friendship before they make money, continuously create a team following. 6) Your business will only grow as fast as you do! 7) Activity cures everything!! (I loved that!!)
4. Wrap-Up: Fellow Lifemaxers….it is my whole hearted belief that our top female leaders, with a mere 3 years or less with Lifemax could have been right on stage with these incredible women!!! It was a proud moment to know that we are hearing much of the same information and our leaders are all teaching, sharing and continuously refining their skills in this industry and setting the highest standards for all of us to reach success!!
From Executive Director Ron Druyan
What I took from this great event was that this industry is going to be main stream in the next 5-10 years because of the market trends and the efforts of industry leaders to have mutual goals and standards of practice. We are in the right time and at a very right place and with the best vehicle (Lifemax) to welcome this trend and be a huge part of the success.
From Executive Director Haley Kelly
In my opinion, and in the opinion of everyone who spoke on stage, having success in this industry all boils down to a few things:
1) Our BELIEF in our company, in this industry and most importantly, IN OURSELVES.
2) Being completely certain of our purpose and having a very clear vision of where we are going (GOALS) and the action steps we need to take to get there.
3) Making the DECISION to commit to your goals/ dreams, having unwavering faith in where you are headed AND putting on your blinders and plowing full steam ahead every day (even when you don’t feel like it)!
4) You are the CEO of your company. When things are not going as you’d like them to…LOOK IN THE MIROR! Be coachable!
From Director Henryk Lesniak
After the Mastermind Event, I realized that there are 3 things that can make us very successful:
1) Our DREAM
2) Our BELIEF
3) Our COMMITTMENT
We are the only ones that can make this happen!! Everything else can be learned!
From EAQ 360 Kendyl De La Garza Hale
You’ve heard it before, but it’s true; attending our Lifemax Annual Conference was a great opportunity to build BELIEF in our company, but attending Mastermind 7 was an amazing opportunity to be INSPIRED by the possibilities of this industry! Let me tell you, it was an absolutely priceless experience, and one that I think I will look back and say, “Yup, that was the moment things changed for me; that was the moment when everything clicked!”
Any of my friends could tell you that I always ’light up’ when the word Mila is mentioned, as I absolutely love our product! And from day one, the thing I recognize now is that, despite Kimmy’s words floating in my head that I need to lead with the business if I want to grow a large organization, it just wasn’t quite sticking for some reason, and because of that I still found myself leading with the product and then saying, “Oh by the way, there is a great business opportunity too!” Well, I can’t tell you exactly when it happened, but at some point over those 3 days, I started to experience a paradigm shift. A light bulb turned on, and I finally understood, Our Business Opportunity IS our Product! I don’t know why I didn’t see it that way before! We have such an incredible opportunity to change people’s lives, and now I finally believe that! I find myself inspired to mention our business and our profession to anyone who is willing to listen; to anyone who is hungry for a change, to anyone who refuses to give in to social constraints and the monotony of society’s expectations. For the first time, I see my future in a completely different light, and that’s because I now believe that I am meant to do so much more with my life than I previously imagined. I realized that we are all extremely blessed to have been chosen to take part in this movement that will sweep our countries and ultimately our world! We can’t, for one day, take for granted the opportunity to be a catalyst for growth. We are on the cusp of great change, and now I’m starting to understand that it’s up to us to be the change we want to see in the world! We are so blessed to have this company as a vehicle to do that, and with leaders and founders that are doing things the right way! That too became apparent to me over the course of this conference.
I was told there is no safety in a significant life, but there is no significance in a safe life. If you’re trying to impress the crowd, your life will be unimpressive. We have to expect greatness in ourselves, and we have to model what we stand for. We have to act like the person we perceive ourselves to be, and we have to live the kind of life people want to ask about. Our success is a journey, not a destination!
From EAQ 360 Van Fitzgerald
For me, MM7 was a highly inspirational and life-changing experience. Not only were the speakers phenomenal, but having such a strong Lifemax presence, including our founders, company leaders and friends, reaffirmed to me that Lori and I are in the right place! I definitely think MM8 should be on your list of “must-go-to” events for 2012!
Lifemax Bee-lieves!
One of the themes throughout the weekend was BELIEVE; believe in yourself, believe in your industry, and believe in each and every person you bring into your family fold. To show our team unity and express our bee-lief as best we could, the Lifemax-ers swarmed the Mastermind costume party dressed as a colony of bees with the Queen Bee Sherri Wear at the lead (and her partner in crime tights, Jim Wear, at her side).
Enjoy these bee-autiful photos from Kendyl and Erika
